3 finally unveils iPhone pricing
By Joseph Hanlon on 13 July 2009
Nearly a month after the iPhone launched with Optus, Vodafone and Telstra, and only three days before it lands in its stores, 3 Mobile has finally lifted the curtain on its iPhone pricing.

In line with its positioning as a cheap, youth-focused brand, 3's pricing is geared to appeal to those who want to pay less for the iPhone, highlighting discounted rates on last year's iPhone 3G 8GB model. All three models, including the 16GB and 32GB 3GS models, are available from $39 per month plus handset repayment fees, with the 8GB being the cheapest iPhone from 3 for a total monthly cost of $44, including $150 worth of calls and messages and 150MB of data. Customers looking to avoid a monthly handset repayment can choose between an 8GB or 16GB at the $79 price point.
For those seeking the top-line 32GB handset, 3 is offering "The Works"; a plan costing $110 per month delivering 3000 minutes of calling, 500 SMS or MMS and 3GB of internet data. The 16GB model attracts no monthly handset repayment fee on The Works plan, while the 32GB iPhone will cost an additional $5 per month (p/m).
Extra data can be added to any iPhone plan with 500MB costing $6p/m, 1GB costing $10p/m and an additional 3GB for $20p/m. 3 also confirmed that internet tethering will be available at no extra cost.
The iPhone 3GS will launch with 3 Mobile on 17 June. Full pricing details can be found at www.three.com.au/iphone/pricing.

The good thing with the 3 plans is that you can configure them to have lower phone cap, but have more data by paying extra (if you want to use tethering, esp.) You don't get this flexibility with the other providers.

Yes 3 will have the Iphone 3GS, and the 8gb Iphone 3G. Extra data is a must for this great device and its nice to see that they provide more data for less the cost than their x-series packs for the other handsets.
