Comments: Freeview is not just "the UK's name for its EPG service". Freeview is the free digital terrestrial TV service in the UK. It was started by the BBC, BSkyB and a transmission company as a way of giving those who could not afford subscription TV a free alternative, and also assisted the UK's fast paced transfer to digital only TV and the switch off of analogue channels. A cursory glance at the wikipedia article on Freeview would have told you that.
