ACCC whips HP cashback into shape

HP Australia has changed its claims processing and complaints handling procedures, following numerous complaints received by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission about the manufacturer's cashback and gift promotions.

This problem has been going on for ages, but I'm glad to hear something has finally happened. Maybe I can get that promised $100 cashback from 2005? :)

it took me about 7 months for me to get my cash back from hp had to send the paperwork in 4 times i think the retailers shouldn't advertise it as such a big thing and they need to be held accountable cause when i bought my laptop they were like this hp one is going to be cheaper cause of the cash back and made it sound so easy to get the cash back as if it would be in the box when i open it and pull out my new laptop

I remember when I tried to get my $20 cashback from Microsoft when I brought a mice... took me over an hour just to find the URL... they had it so deeply hidden within the website no typical user would ever be able to find it!
