AFL Premiership 2005 set for September action
By Randolph Ramsay on 19 August 2005
AFL Premiership 2005, which was developed by Melbourne-based IR Gurus, is the official game of the AFL and features all the teams, players, venues and competitions in the competition. The game will also feature on-line functionality allowing gamers to battle rival teams from around Australia.
And in an added bonus, Sony has confirmed that every copy of the game will include a bonus DVD that recounts the 100 year history of Australian Rules football. The game itself also seems set to be an AFL statistician's dream, with analysis of each real-world AFL player's performance from their debut season right up to the 2004 AFL season.
AFL Premiership 2005 features an expanded season mode, which includes pre-season drafts, Wizard Cup games, standard or heritage team jumpers, plus umpire match reports and even the AFL tribunal. The game will also utilise the PS2's EyeToy camera, with gamers given the ability to take a photo of their face and have it inserted in the game as a 3D model.

this is a crap game. the artificial intelligence is useless. for example, when defending, the opposition will kick the ball into their forward line and the AI will designate the defender in the OPPOSITE POCKET than the one the ball is headed for. the controls aren't logical (main control for offence is the 'x' while the main for defence is the circle, this means in a game where possession switches sides rapidly younger players will not be able to compete/keep up. the commentary is repetitive and detracts rather than enhances the game, the camera views are more restrictive this time around, with the panning views swinging wildly when the ball is turned over etc, the side on views don't revert to behind the player's head for taking kicks after marks except when shooting at goal, etc etc. i returned the game within 12 hours of purchase.

I couldnt wait for this to come out but i am disappointed. the game spent to much time on trades, draft, delistings etc and didnt put much effort into the gameplay. the camera angles are hard to work with and marking is a task. Wouldnt buy it.

So how much profit you expect to make out of the poor people who buy this pathetic excuse of our great game....
I for one will never purchase another AFL format until someone like EA sports has a go. -

Brought this game with great expectations.
If you too are thinking of buying this game forget it.
Poor attention to detail and is nothing more that a juiced up version of the previous 2 versions.
A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY -

WASTE OF MONEY DONT BUY IT!!!I am very dissappointed. This game has definately gone backwards since the '04 premiership addition. I thought the concept of a career mode and tribunal and such would be just what the game needed but they have gone and taken out the good stuff. There is no stats, and the game play has gone to ****.
