Apple's AirPlay is a wireless system designed to stream music and video between compatible devices via ordinary Wi-Fi.

To stream to one of these devices you need a PC or Mac loaded with iTunes 10 or an iOS 4 portable (iPhone 3 or 4, iPad, iPod Touch).

The service was introduced in late 2010 and was initially limited to Apple devices, but as of this year the number of manufacturers has grown to include B&W, Marantz and Denon.
