Welcome to CNET Australia's App of the Day, where you can see some of the coolest, silliest and most useful apps in action.
Considering how much money people are willing to pay for health and fitness apps, we're somewhat surprised that this one has slipped under the radar. Sponsored by the NSW Government and the NSW Food Authority, 8700 — named after the ideal average daily consumption of kilojoules — aims to help you create a healthy eating plan, personalised to your specific needs. You enter a few details and the app will give you a rough guide on how many kilojoules you can consume daily to either maintain your current weight or to lose weight. You can also search for various types of junk food to see how many kilojoules they contain.
The app also has a calorie-to-kilojoule converter, and a calculator that tells you how many kilojoules you are burning when you exercise, based on your current profile.
