Apple iPhone 3GS (32GB)

By Kent German and Joseph Hanlon on 01 July 2009

Even substantial concerns about network reception and battery life can't stop us recommending the iPhone 3GS. The combination of its fantastic browser, the full-featured iPod media player and Apple's App Store forms a compelling trio and are together unmatched by the competition.

    • Good: Screen size, huge range of apps, elegant form factor, easy to use, multiple uses
    • Bad: Battery life

I still have the 3G and although with the updated OS it has slowed a bit, I am still amazed how I managed to live my last 49 years without an iphone. The perceived poor battery life may well be a function of how much I use it. Did I mention you can also make and receive phone calls and SMS. Even though there is only a 2MP camera in the 3G the quality of the photos for what I need, is excellent.
