Apple iPhone
By Kent German and Donald Bell on 02 July 2007
Despite some important missing features, a slow data network and call quality that doesn't always deliver, the Apple iPhone sets a new benchmark for an integrated mobile phone and MP3 player.

- Good: Good screen res, gesture recognition touch.
- Bad: No video recording, bluetooth doesn't work with my Motorolla, no Linux support and no manual file transfere makes it absolutly useless for Linux users, no real customised ringtones: you have to pay for itune songs to use them as ringtones -> product coupling.
This product belongs to the 'Major Gimmics' category. It provides features that most people will never use either because it is not necessary or because it is far too expensive: excell, wordprocessing, webbrowsing, itune etc. It does not support features that most people want: video, self portrait, multimedia message, voice dial, manual file transfer. It is reliant on iTune/sync therefore it does not support Linux. I actually have the device in my hand in Australia. The only useful feature remains is: telephone. A bit overpriced for a barefooted telephone with a 2MP, most simplistic still camera.

What a great phone. Most of the things that this site says is bull. My brothers had it for some time and were yet to see any disadvantages

The whole "I know it doesn't do this or that but the UI is super" sounds like "I know Paris Hilton has the intelligence of the average mound of waste but she has great legs". Grow up! Until you can demonstrate how a fashionable mobile entertainment device can handle the creation of documents and databases, the iPhone is neither as smart nor as revolutionary as many existing smartphones.

- Good: Great touch screen
good quality for watching youtube - Bad: No MMS
No multiple sms/ forwarding sms
No Video camera option
no 3G
What a shame that such potential and hype falls down with some of the basic tools/options missing that you get standard on all phones now. Was really looking forward to having something compatible with mac comp.
- Good: Great touch screen

i think its disgraceful that Australia has to wait that long to even legally SEE an iphone. Why does america get it earlier?? Prejudice?? Well the fact that they dont put AUstralian customers first has turned me off buying it... no matter how good it is
