Apple iPod Touch
By Derek Fung on 24 October 2007
If the Touch is the player that you want, that you really, really want, you've probably got one already. Fence-sitters should stay there until next year when third-party apps or version 2.0 comes out.

- Good:
-Great interface
-Looks great
-Best sound quality of any iPod
-Biggest screen of any iPod
-Cover Flow - Bad:
-16GB is too small for even a large music collection, let alone videos; making the screen a waste
-Fingerprint and scratch magnet, I predict accessory companies will make a fortune selling cases etc.
-Sound quality still bad compared to other MP3/4 players (Creative Zen Vision M/W for example)
-Screen resolution could use an improvement
-Cover Flow could cause lag and a drain on battery life, also wouldn't work with most tracks not purchased from iTunes
-Ridiculous price, a touchscreen doesn't make it nearly worth as much as a 160GB iPod Classic.
Certainly the best ipod, and the best flash MP3 player. But it's still a dissapointment.

- Good: Big sharp screen for watching movies and podcasts, long battery life.
Wifi web access using Safari is simple... see whole pages... larger when in Landscape mode... and love the feature that zooms into data entry fields and automatically presents you with an onscreen keyboard with keys large enough to satisfy even guys with fat fingers like me. Love having it separate from my phone... and my only wish is for Apple to give us a facility for email access (it already interfaces to the contacts and calendar facilities of Outlook) then it would be perfect! - Bad: Chromed steel back wll scratch easily, shows all fingermarks. Headphone jack should be relocated to the bottom of a side so that you can stand it in it's stand vertically (portrait mode) when playing music and still adjust playing volume... which you can't do if the unit is placed on it's side (landscape mode)to browse using the CoverFlow feature.
Movies and podcasts all play only in landscape mode... and all controls are available... so why not for music too?
Mine arrived from Apple two days ago... and it's not even in the retail stores yet. I am totally wrapped!!!
- Good: Big sharp screen for watching movies and podcasts, long battery life.

- Good: looks nice
- Bad: i've got 30gb plus of music within two months of adsl2 the classic 160gb

16Gb is not nearly enough maybe 30 and definitely 80gb and i'd be keen.

Already ordered one in 16gb, at 4am as soon as the apple store came back online after the keynote.
i was hoping/praying they would give us a better estimate of iphone delivery dates, but until that day comes this will have to suffice :D wooot.
