Apple iPod U2 Special Edition (20GB, second generation)

The curious black and red iPod U2 Special Edition adds a photo-friendly colour screen, better battery life and a lower price.

Quick Take: Along with the 20GB iPod, the 20GB iPod U2 Special Edition has been updated to fall in line with the rest of the high-capacity iPod pack. That is, the black and red version inspired by "the world's most popular band" showcases a new 66,000-colour screen and a photo-upload (via Apple's Camera Connector) feature, as well as the capability to view photos and album art. There's also a new podcast menu item, which is available for older iPods by way of a firmware upgrade. Basically, it's a black and red iPod Photo inscribed with the signatures of Bono and company.     Awesome iPod

    The U2 iPod is great. Not because I am a huge fan of the band, but it just rocks. A bit heavy (than all other iPods), and doesn't have to use iTunes 7.0. 20GB is pretty big for MP3 collections, and you can use it as a backup disk. The red, black and white looks cool and is unique, but sadly it scractches easily.

    Battery life is good too, at 13.2 hours of continuous MP3 playback after my testing. It can store thousands upon thousands of photos.

    You get all their albums from Boy to How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb as well in a cool boxset and comes with some small mobile-phone like games as well as photo transitions and TV-out capability.

    Great product. Finally, an Apple that works.

    • Good: Sound quality and bass
      Signatures and included U2 boxset
      Reliable and works well
      Shows photos (even though screen is small)

    • Bad: Scratches easily
      No FM radio ofr Line-In recording

    great for any occasion and clear smoth sound

    its really food for every thing. so easy to use and price is great. just buy it.
    oh by the way i have every ipod ever made and every colour and ipod u2 the best
