Asus Eee PC 1000HE
By Craig Simms on 10 March 2009
The Asus Eee PC 1000HE is a good 10-inch netbook; while we're hanging out for the higher resolution HP Mini 2140, this is definitely one of the better 10-inch netbooks on the market.

I'm confused by the claim that the ASUS eee pc 1000HE has 10GB of solid state storage. Nowhere else can i find this claim, in fact the ASUS specs page does not even mention this, see:

Could someone show me where you guys got this info? -

- Good: Battery Life. Keyboard Size. Bluetooth. Lots of USB.
- Bad: Bit pricy compared to US.
Great Product. One of the best netbooks out. Battery life is excellent, lots of nice extras (SD reader, bluetooth, plenty of USB).
I bought a 2gb Ram upgrade and installed Windows 7 on mine. Got a class 6 4GB SD card for Windows Readyboost, bluetooth mouse, and did a quick overclock of FSB and now its perfect.
Now it floats around my house as my on-demand internet browser/emailer/youtuber.
I cant rate this machine enough. -

this thing is great! i have no problems typing on the keyboard, and the overall performance is amazing. battery is not the stated 9.5 hours, but i'm easily getting 7-8 with wifi turned on. i spent a long time researching what netbook i was going to buy and i'm very pleased that i bought this one. the 1000he i a brilliant machine, and i would recommend it to anybody. by the way, prices are coming down and i admit $900 was i little bit to much.

- Good: Keyboard size, battery life
- Bad: Price, price, price
Would be truly awesome if it weren't for the rediculous price.
Even the most expensive US retailers are selling for $400USD which is $555aud at the current exchange rates.
Once again Aussie consumers are getting royally shafted... -

It's nice, but at $900 rrp it's a colossal rip-off. The same machine can be bought in the USA for under US$400, which at today's exchange rate translates into ~$630.
