Aussie game charts: November 27-December 3
By Randolph Ramsay on 12 December 2006
PlayStation 2 games have once again dominated Australia's sales charts, with eight out of the top 10 entries for the last week being titles for Sony's ageing console.
Only the Xbox 360's Gears of War and The Sims 2: Pets for PC managed to break the PS2's stranglehold on the charts for the week of November 27 to December 3, according to data trackers GfK Australia. At the top of the list for the third week in a row was WWE! SmackDown! vs. RAW 2007 for the PS2, followed by EA's Need for Speed Carbon for the PS2. Gears of War has now been out down under for two weeks, snaring third place in both weeks.
While Nintendo had no entrants in the overall top 10, that situation is expected to change next week now that the Wii has been launched locally.
