With its sturdy build, voice features and excellent audio quality, the T1 is BlueAnt's best headset yet.

BlueAnt introduced us to voice-controlled Bluetooth headsets with the BlueAnt V1 in 2008 and then again with its BlueAnt Q1 last year. This year, BlueAnt introduces the BlueAnt T1 that promises to be the company's best headset yet. Not only does it offer the voice controls of its predecessors, but it also features superior wind noise cancellation, the capability to announce caller names, A2DP streaming, and it enters the realm of the rugged headset with specially designed silicon covers that increase its durability to dust and moisture. The BlueAnt T1 is available for AU$99.99.

The BlueAnt T1 looks very different when compared with its predecessor, the Q1. The T1 is wider, thicker and bulkier overall. It's clear that BlueAnt wanted to make the T1 a much sturdier and durable headset. Still, the T1 maintains that sleek minimalist appeal we liked about the Q1, and has clean lines all around.

On the front of the headset is the multifunction call button at the top, followed by a skinny wind guard shield down the middle. Two large volume buttons sit on the right side while a power toggle sits on the back underneath the earpiece. We like this dedicated power toggle as it makes it that much easier to turn the headset on and off.

The earpiece is similar to previous BlueAnt headsets — it's clad in a tapered silicone ear bud with an attached loop that lets the headset fit securely in the ear without an ear hook. You can then twist the ear bud left or right to fit in either the left or right ear. We found the fit to be very snug and comfortable. It does take a bit of fiddling to ensure the microphone is pointing toward the mouth, but once you get it in, it feels great. If you would rather have a more traditional set-up, the T1 also comes with loop-less ear buds and two optional ear hooks. BlueAnt wisely included several different sizes of ear buds for a better fit in the ear.

As a bonus, with the T1, BluAnt includes two different silicone covers to fit over the headset like a glove. This turns the already sturdy T1 into a ruggedised headset. According to BlueAnt, this will prevent the headset from dust and moisture damage in addition to everyday nicks and bumps.

For this review, we paired the BlueAnt T1 with the Apple iPhone 3G. BlueAnt is very good at guiding you through the pairing and connecting the headset to your phone just by using voice prompts. When you first turn it on, it automatically goes into pairing mode and guides you through the process. Like the Q1, the T1 has multipoint, so we were able to connect to both these phones at the same time. That said, the T1 is not completely hands-free, as you have to press the button to utter a voice command.

The Sense also comes fitted with a vibration sensor that detects when you get back in the car and automatically reconnects to your phone to ensure that you are always hands-free on the go.

Once installed and connected, the Sense will announce the names of incoming callers so there's no need to take your eyes off the road to know who is calling. Simply say the word "Answer" or "Ignore" to respond.

With voice dialing over Bluetooth, one tap of the Sense will allow you to make calls using your voice.

The Sense provides best-in-class sound with rich audio quality. The Sense's high performance speaker and integrated digital signal processing technology deliver clear calls with loud, booming audio even in difficult conditions.

The Sense also features built-in A2DP functionality so you can hear podcasts, streaming music or GPS turn-by-turn directions from applications on your phone played back through your BlueAnt device.

The Good:it has good features. i like the way it downloads to the evo.

The Bad:it seem to lose the connection quickly. then it stop reading my texts. also the windnoise feature is not all that. but i have yet to fine one with perfect noisecancellations features.i wish i could fine one!!

i know that ur goal is to out do the JAWBONE bluetooth. i've had alots of them and trust me! they're really over rated. but please try to fix to connection error. because that's a bad problem to me. if it doesn't do it!then by all means don't say it does. i would rather be supprised! then to be let down!!!!!!!!!

The Good:Light weight, sturdy, sounds clear, and Streams my music

The Bad:Text read out app is only for Android.

Great Device so far. I brought it at best buy for 79.99. The price compared to a lot of head sets was really good. Then with the wind technology and the the rubber covers that protect the device I thought this would be great for the wet weather I am in and out of here in the north east. All and all one of the best bluetooth devices to date. Works well with iPhone but even better with my wifes Android.

I had a previous x3 micro which I loved and couldn't rate blue ant products high enough, just bought a T1, love having 2 phones connected at once, but the design is well short of expectations, (the x3 micro is much more ergonomic) and the first charge lasted only 3 days - less than 30 hours with less than 10 mins calling, so far the 2nd charge doesn't seem to be much better

very disappointed so far

The Good:Very lite and has extremely good voice quality.

The Bad:Haven't found any yet.

I have been through several bluetooth headsets to use with my iPhone and while driving my convertible and I have found this the T1 to be very good.
