HSDPA stands for High speed downlink packet access and refers to mobile broadband technology that allows you to download data to compatible mobile devices at speeds of up to 14.4 Megabits per second (Mbps).
This technology is most beneficial to people who require fast access to the data for Web browsing, videoconferencing and mobile TV services.
14.4Mbps is currently the maximum speed for HSDPA networks in Australia, although several of the local mobile carriers have started suggesting increases in speed of up to 42Mbps by 2010.
