The SR220 is Sony's premium standard-def, hard disk camcorder. It comes with a 60GB hard-drive, 5.1-channel surround sound recording, zoom microphone and a 2.7-inch touchscreen LCD. You can also record video onto Memory Stick.

Recording to HDV tape, the high-def HC9 features 6.1-megapixel (interpolated) still shooting, detachable lens hood (pictured), optical image stabilisation, headphone and microphone jacks, and 10x optical zoom.
Sony's entry-level camcorder, the HC52, features miniDV tape recording, a 2.5-inch touchscreen LCD and 40x optical zoom.
The only high-def DVD Handycam in Sony's 2008 line-up, the UX20 can record to either DVD, Memory Stick or its 8GB of internal memory. Other features on its spec sheet include 15x optical zoom, 4-megapixel (interpolated) still image capture, zooming microphone, and Face and Film Roll indexing.
All of Sony's 2008 DVD Handycams can record to Memory Stick too, even the entry-level DVD610. This bargain-basement model gets zoom microphone, 40x optical zoom, and Face and Film Roll indexing.
