This portable GPS navigator undercuts its name brand competition and offers a 1GB SD as standard. Its design is reminiscent of the Navman iCN 520 from 2005, though.
A PDA-cum-GPS which looks much like its more expensive sibling, the A696. The A686 misses out on that model's Wi-Fi, while making do with less memory and processing power.
Top dog of the S-Series Platinum range, the S300t features a built-in traffic messaging receiver, with lifetime subscription, an iPhone-inspired interface and shiny metal body, as well as spoken street names, 3D landmarks and extended lane info.
The S200 is like the top-of-the-range S300t, except that it misses out on a built-in traffic messaging receiver. This means its feature list includes an FM transmitter, MP3 and video playback, 3D landmarks, extended lane info and an iPhone-style interface.

I purchased a NAVMAN S80 in July 2008.At the time, I didn't bother about pairing it with my Motorola K1 mobile phone...
Pros: Clear maps, good voice instructions
Cons: MAPS are out of date
NAVMAN Support (what support?)
I called about the "Pairing" problem, I was on hold for about 20 minutes, then the support person asked me to try a few things, I did. Then she asked me to hang up and she will call me back.
She did - and said "The version of the software you have does NOT provide automatic re-pairing", so each time I get into my car - I have to re-pair again...
So, you can buy a software upgrade fro $199 in December and that will do the job.... Well - if they have a BUG and fix it, why should I pay for it? I don't want the new maps, just a bug fix.
I am sure NOT going to recommend NAVMAN to anyone from this point onwards...

An OK unit, clear, and voce commands are good.
Pros: Like it, easy setup, clear screen, alos changes light intensity between day / night
Cons: Pairing B/T with My Motorola K1 - no go, that same phone pairs without any problem with my Supertooth II.
The map of my street is missing house numbers
The new exitto Eastlink freeway in Melbourne runs into a dead end.
Customer support - Is there such thing?
If I had a chance, I would buy something else...

WRT to Point 11 - I've just discovered that there is a PIN access at startup.
PIN access cannot be activated or configured via your Navman S80.
You actually need to go through a thousand steps to set it up.
Unfortunately, the website integration is far from perfect (process A doesn't know Process B) causing Product Registration to be not recognised on the NavDesk software. After mucking around, I realised that there are 2 product registration forms
1. This is for warranty purposes: http://ausstore.navmanstores.com/information/register%20product.htm
2. This is to enable you to set up a PIN access on your Navman: https://register.navman.com/registration/en-GB/index.jsp
* There is a website flaw - If you click on Register Device, you are asked to log in again. This is probably because the underlying link for "Register Device" is wrong. It should be: https://register.navman.com/registration/servlet/registerDevices
In order to activate and configure a PIN:
A. Install the NavDesk software on your PC.
B. Connect your S80 via USB to the PC.
C. Click Tools > PIN Security > Register your product
D. Go to https://register.navman.com/registration/servlet/registerDevices
E: Create a new account by entering your preferred email and password.
F. Go to https://register.navman.com/registration/servlet/registerDevices again (as "Register Device" link on website is wrong).
G. Go to your Navman. Click on > Preferences > About. Note down the astronomical no. of alpha-numerals (called Unit ID).
H. Enter the Unit ID on your NavDesk.
I. Choose a PIN you want to use on your Navman.
Surely, a much simpler PIN configuration via the Navman's Preferences will suffice?

I didn't know Bluetooth connectivity is such a hassle.
I thought if 2 devices are Bluetooth-enabled, they will just work together.
Navman Tech Support has just sent me the link to a list of mobile phones compatible with Navman S80.

Had high expectation but disappointed on the mediocre performance and shortcomings.
Overall, I wish I had bought another GPS navigation system (but I don't know if another brand will be any better!)
Pros: 1. Good loud voice instruction
2. No complicated setup on first use. Turn on and ready to go (although the default is to allow Toll Road!).
3. 2-year warranty - One of the attractions of Navman over other brands (only 1 year warranty), but I haven't tried (touch wood) repair or return.
Cons: 1. Can't edit address of "Favourite" (i.e. bookmarked address)!
2. Can't backtrack to change name of Favourite (can only back-delete everything then type again).
3. Bluetooth is hopeless - can't detect HP iPaQ h6365. Can detect my ancient Nokia 6310 but can't connect. Both my HP iPaQ and Nokia can detect the S80. Navman should simply not declare S80 is not Bluetooth-enabled because it is pathetically hopeless.
4. Can't USB-charge and use Navman S80 at the same time. You can't do nothing while charging with USB. But no problem with in-car cigarette charging.
5. No lane indicator. (On one occasion, I was asked to "bear left in 800m", so I kept on the left-most lane. But it became an exit, and I exited the expressway prematurely.)
6. No easy "Back to Map View" button. When navigating menus or preferences, you had to click on a few arrows to go back to Map view.
7. Battery is supposed to last +-5 hours but I found it requires recharge much sooner. Possibly under 2 hours.
8. Sound alert for speed camera and red-light camera is not prominent enough. It is simply a "blink" sound. It should be an actual voice "Red Light Camera Ahead!" or "Speed Camera Ahead!".
9. In Sydney CBD, S80 wrongly identified the road we were on (probably because of the tall buildings blocking signal?).
10. From the many feedback here, it seems that Navman Tech Support is non-existent (i.e. does not reply to customer queries or concerns in a timely manner). I can't attest to that but if so many people say so, there must be some truth?
11. All Navman should have a PIN access requirement at startup AND make it known widely in their advertising to deter theft.
12. Dashboard bracket should be included as standard (in addition to windscreen bracket).

S80 SmartST 2008
The S80 I have does 95% of everything it should do excpet for Bluetooth pariing with my Sony Ericsson T630. Which by the way works fine with my BlueAnt Supertooth handsfree.
When following up to get this BT problem fixed with Navman support, I found the real weakness in the product. So unfortunate, as this weighs down any good user experience with frustration. If it wasn't for that, it could be the best on the market and I would give it a 10.
Pros: Screen Size & Layout
Features & Options
Trip Planning
Audio directions
Route recalc
Cons: Bluetooth (With my phone)
Customer Service
