Dell UltraSharp U2410 unboxing

By Craig Simms on 19 August 2009

Yep, the inputs are still crazy. DisplayPort, HDMI, dual-DVI, VGA, component, composite, 3.5mm audio out (presumably to siphon HDMI sound elsewhere), USB upstream and two USB ports.

Are there any manufacturers that don't use environmentally unfriendly foam packaging around their monitors, PCs, laptops, etc? When are they going to get more responsible with their packaging?

This is an excellent article on how to unpack a monitor. Thank you, CNET. Now I can make an informed choice.

I agree with doigal about the CF cards. However I have the 2408WFP that has a CF reader as part of the card reader set and I dont use it much, the main reason being how much slower it is at reading my Sandisk Extreme III cards. I am looking at upgrading from to this as the 2408WFP's reds are way too bright they actually burn my eyes.

If CF was dying why then would every professional dSLR use CF as its main storage format? For a monitor that is directed at graphic professionals, naturally including photographers, this is a big backwards step. In two - three years then it would make sence but for now its just poor judgement.

I'm slightly peeved that Dell would have charged me $899 for the old 24" Ultrasharp 3 days before this new monitor was announced - why do Dell make it so hard to buy from them!? Looking forward to the reveiw on this new panel - just to see what I'm missing out on :-)

$899? Did that include a new car?

I've heard nothing about this monitor yet...really want to hear some details and some comparison to other IPS screens on the market!! Wouldn't want to touch a TN panel with a ten foot pole, and seems like manufacturers are phasing out 1920x1200 in favour of 1920x1080...so a 1920x1200 IPS is a good prospect! :-)

Looking forward to the review. I've (mostly) been a fan of Dell's previous 24" VA monitors and a I absolutely LOVE my 2209WA 22" IPS monitor.

This isn't the review John, just the unboxing. The review will come soon :)
