More Dell reviews , RRP: AU$2899.00

The good:

  • Huge 30” panel and 2560x1600 resolution provides plenty of screen space
  • Far cheaper than Apple’s 30-inch Cinema Display
  • Highly immersive DVD viewing experience
  • Sharp text
  • Attractive design
  • Plethora of physical adjustment options
  • Integrated memory card reader and USB hub

The bad:

  • Additional screen space is wasted on most users
  • Significant noise whilst watching DVDs
  • Ghosting issues in video playback
  • Requires an ultra high-end PC
  • Lacks S-Video input
  • Adjustable settings are limited to brightness only

The bottomline:

The Dell 3007WFP is a gargantuan 30-inch LCD display that offers copious screen real estate, but it’s just not practical for desktop PC use. The lack of video ports is also a deal breaker.

Users' rating:

9.5/10

      Asus VW223B

The Asus VW223B is acceptable for its intended audience — those who need to add a second monitor cheaply, and are undemanding in its use.

    • Asus MK241H

      Asus MK241H

The MK241H is a decent performer for what it is, but for AU$100 more you could have the vastly superior Dell 2408WFP or Samsung 245T.

    • Acer P241WB

      Acer P241WB

High brightness and a low price make the 24-inch Acer P241w immediately appealing, as does its unique bezel design, but we found its brightness came at the expense of deep colours and blacks.

HP's LP2480zx is a sight to behold. Now if only we had a spare AU$4,200 kicking around...

      ViewSonic VP2250wb

While it's definitely not a professional monitor as claimed, as an all-purpose monitor ViewSonic's VP2250wb does well, offering a step up within the 22-inch space.
