Festivals are about enjoying great music with great friends and making it a memorable experience. We headed up to Byron Bay for Splendour In The Grass 2006 and while professional cameras were not allowed, we managed to snap some great shots with the Canon Digital IXUS 800IS. Check out our photo gallery to relive the action, find out what you missed and pick up some tips on how to capture better shots in a festival environment.

If you want to shoot moving subjects such as performers or friends dancing in the crowd, make sure your camera has a fast shutter speed to capture images without them ending up a blur. Burst mode could also be useful as a sequence of shots increases your chances of a decent photograph.
