Photographer: Alexander Choi

Shooting subject: Wildlife

Equipment: Canon EOS 30D, Sigma 170-500mm lens.

Alexander Choi began exploring photography at the age of 13, when he was given a film SLR by his father.

More recently, he took an interest in observing birds and wildlife, which led to combining his passions by photographing the animals he sees. Through practice, his bird watching skills have progressed to a level where he can identify the type of bird and its distance by listening to its call.

Some good pics here with great potential. I think that they need a lot more ork in post processing though. A lot of them have very obvious issues with exposure error, blown highlights and poor contrast, all of which can be easily fixed in Photoshop. At the moment, the images are okay, but I can see with some post processing, the can be great.

      Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3

It has been about two years since Panasonic's last LX-series camera, the DMC-LX2, was launched. One of the most interesting things about that model was its 16:9 aspect ratio sensor and a good range of manual controls not usually found in digital compact cameras. We spent a day with the upcoming successor to the LX2, the DMC-LX3. Here's what we found out.
