thanks for the comments. Do not buy unless you'll only take a few photos a day and you use rechargeable batteries.
NOT FOR VACATION CAMERA USE EVER.
Pros: looks nice. easy to use.
Cons: my brother was about to buy it and i told him about the power issues. So he tried fresh batteries and yes after 10 pics the batteries were dead. he didn't buy it. thanks so much for the internet!!!
Bought this for my daughter in HS. This is her first digital camera and she's pleased with the image quality, etc. However, it appears to have a power issue. She can only shoot less than a dozen pictures before the camera indicates it's out of power. We purchase the best AA batteries, and the same condition exists. We bought a charger and some rechargeable AA batteries for digital camera's... same thing happens. We are ready to throw the thing out the window.
Pros: At the time, a good entry level digital camera w/o having to spend the big bucks...
Cons: IF the power issues are systemic to the model (I haven't tried to get our issues resolved by the manufacturer yet), you're much better off leaving this one on the shelf and getting something with a solid power usage and management system.

From the outside, the V1273 exudes sophistication due to its metal/plastic construction and touchscreen. Sadly, lacklustre performance lets this cheerful camera down.
