The mobile phone IM has all the basic features that a desktop IM has. These include letting the sender and receiver know the present status of other party. It also supports offline messages. It let the user search for friend by phone number. The text message is sent by using UDP in a small packet size. Network carrier in the market normally charge user for $0.01 per 1 kB of data traffic. User can send and receive many text messages in just 1kB compare to $0.05-$0.15 for every SMS. Other features include shake function which the sender may make the recipient handset vibrate if it support vibration, a typing indicator and cool sound when you got new message. In addition to these, it also can alert other buddy when you are online by using SMS.
