The Good:worked great initially

The Bad:doesn't work anymore!

Printer has lasted less than 12 months - print quality is now so poor text is illegible. Leaves black ink marks all over the paper. Paper feeder broke.
Flimsy, nasty, cheap piece of crap, such a shame as our last Epson printer was great.

The Bad:cant find the driver you need

does any one have the two cd that came with there r29, i am willing to buy a copy of them, my email is abmm2@bigpond,look forward to a reply.cheers bunkerman

I have had nothing but trouble with the R290. People are not being straight-forward when they praise this flimsy collection of plastic. I am surprised that a dedicated camera man is so attached to it, and confused by praise that depends on being able to do things that Epson specifically warns against!
Nor do I blame myself for buying it. The local Apple branch 'assistant' gave inadequate guidance - they're no angels.

would you have the driver cds that came with a r290. i am happy to pay for them to be copied and sent to me. i need the one for cd printing. my system has crasshed and i cant find the cd,my emall is abmm2@bigond.com

The Good:everything - best for CISS

The Bad:nothing

I use non-Epson papers and PIGMENT ink, with CISS. Works great, with no troubles at all. A big pro to Epson is the software that allows full control over printing to adjust say CYM - so my prints are exactly the way I like. The tricky part to printing is balancing the CYM for the pigments. Using an 8megapixel camera, the prints are as good as any photolab prints up to 8x10 - and often better as I can adjust contrast to give perfect portraits. R290 is a great printer.

The Good:Nothing

The Bad:Everything

Two of the cartridges show as empty when brand new. Replaced and another cartridge shows as empty. I would expect more from a new product, least of all that it works. Bought this to get my printing sorted prior to getting a professional printer, which I doubt will be an Epson

this printer gives a lot of problem i bought the yellow ink when i put it in it dont work i buy the lite magenta when i put it in the black stop working now i buy a complete set of ink and it still not working the ink lite and the paper lite in flashing i spent $200 us for the printer and $350us on ink and i only get 20 colour prints from and they wont take back the pringter and is not me alnoe because everybody that buy has the sma problem with the inks now i am trying to sell is it back for $50us o exchange what am i to do i was told not to buy this printer so i gess its my fault i learn from my mistake ALWAYS REVIEW PRINTER BEFORE BUYING

while it gives a good quality prints it VERY EXPENCIVE per print you can only get 20 8x10 full colour prints before you need to change ink compare to other printer which print up 70 8x10 full colour print

I am not sure if CNET is giving a wrong information here. I have a look at epson website http://www.epson.com.au/products/inkjet/stylusPhotoR290_specs.asp
there's no CD printing feature
