Epson Stylus TX110

Simplicity is the deal with the TX110, as it's a basic multifunction printer that won't break the bank. It can only copy though, and print photos with 4 ink tanks - not the standard 6 that you might be used to. Still, it's cheap as chips at AU$89.

This printer was created as a scam for owners to keep buying ink. Never Epson again.

"Worst printer in the world. I'd rather hand write my thesis."

Couldn't be worse. This printer is the worst computer peripheral i have ever dealt with. Wastes ink like no tomorrow. Error message galore, says cartridges are not genuine when they are. Products like this should be illegal. $89 for some black EPSON landfill. I will never buy an EPSON product again. This printer will let you down and cause high blood pressure. Don't buy EPSON.

The Good:Nothing is good about this awful product

The Bad:Everything

Do not but this printer, worst experience i have ever had with any computer peripheral. Error messages galore, says cartridges are not genuine when they are. So many problems. I feel like throwing it out the window. Products like this is why we have an environmental problem, for your $89 you basically just get landfill.

The Good:cheap

The Bad:slow!!

Not a bad printer, but not terribly good either. But then I guess you can't expect much from something so cheap.

Uses a lot of ink to print and is super slow. But does get the job done eventually.

Epson should hang their head in shame over this printer.

It's extremely noisy.

The software that comes with it is a catastrophe: It locks up the printer so you can't change cartridges manually; the software decides when you need to change cartridges and prevents you from printing until you do; when you do buy genuine new Epson cartridges if often fails to recognise them.

It goes on and off line unexpectedly. It requires a printer restart to get it back.

If you swap from printer to scanner, the scanner often refuses to let go so you can return to the printer. The only solution is the restart the printer.

It is VERY ink hungry which, of course, makes it expensive to run.

The paper feed is very poor and often either misses the top sheet altogether or it picks up two (or more) sheets at the same time.

Help is very hard to come by.

There's more, only I can't be bothered to write it.

This printer is, as many have said, a complete dog. Don't buy one.

Cheesed.

The Good:Inexpensive to buy.

The Bad:Expensive to use.

Can't detect a wedge of paper fed into its roller. Stops you printing black text when you run out of Cyan.

Oddly enough, Richard Smith's shop website has glowing, expertly written user reviews.

Don't. Just... don't.

The Good:Excellent MFP for the money

The Bad:Nil

Unlike the others here I have had a very good run on the TX110 which was going to be a cheap 'fill-in' printer while my "proper" printer was in storage after moving interstate. I think I paid $57 for it at Office Works and its running from a Mac. I have been printing/computing since 1987 so I have seen some awful printers and this is a good one.

This printer took all the abuse and climatic extremes of living in a tent, plus two house moves, within 12 months and has now been set up as our secondary printer. For all the abuse it has taken it has never missed a beat, but I do make sure with my printers I use genuine cartridges.

Because of its cheapness some of the parts are er....cheap and flimsy, but treat them gently and they survive.

Scanning is not exquisite but more than acceptable.

Overall its a pleasant surprise for the money.

All the above comments are true and more. I wish I could rate it in minus numbers.
The cartridges won't load, run out ridiculously quickly, and the user manual may as well be written in Swahili. Officeworks told me it was a good buy, so they are now in my bad books too. Tonight the whole sorry item is going in the garbage along with its ink cartridges, and I'm going back to HP who I'm sorry I ever left.
PS; you other nerds need to learn how to write English again.

Officeworks has a one year warranty on all products purchased in store. If you're having problems with the product (TX-110), bring the product (with your receipt) into the store and you can get it refunded. Shoudn't be an issue.
