A basic multifunction from Epson, with 4 ink cartridges, an LCD screen, and memory card slots, the TX210 is also relatively cheap at AU$129.

The Good:yes

The Bad:kinda

It works quite well for a cheap printer. The scanner is good quality. The printer is a bit slower than my old epson CX5300. The problem I have with it is that I can not print on any cardboard or thin paper for making cards. I rang technicians at Epson who were quite short with me, telling me that this printer just doesn't print that kind of paper. Great! Basically, good for printing photos, but forget making cards out of your photos.

The Good:Scanner works in Windows 7

The Bad:Nothing else works...

I have now tried all the main releases of Epson drivers for this printer and related series printers on two different laptops made by two different manufacturers running Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Premium. It is impossible to successfully install the printer drives under either operating system and installation attempts in Windows 7 Professional corrupted the spool server causing serious and hard to remedy system problems. Do not purchase this product if you have Windows 7 - it will not work.

The Good:Looks nice and loads from the top making it easier to feed photo paper

The Bad:Installation nightmare in Windows 7

I was looking for a basic top-loading printer (so paper feed would be more direct than most multifunction / modern printers reducing paper jams and roller marks when printing photos) and this seemed to do the job. Installation in Windows 7 has caused lots of problems, however. The installation instructions given are poor and the disk included with the printer does not have Windows 7 drivers. Windows cannot find the drivers on the Windows on-line database, you have to download them from Epson. The installation packages appear to work OK but following installation my system slowed dramatically and I had severe and disabling problems with windows explorer. I would not recommend anyone with Windows 7 to buy this printer - I have some serious deadlines for work due tomorrow and my laptop is now almost unusable simply because I followed the instructions to install this printer. It might be a good printer, but as it still doesn't work after wasting a day of my time I wouldn't know!
