Its two-seat configuration limits its appeal to just a few. That's a shame because Australia's cheapest convertible is loveable, unique and deserving of a wider audience.

For an extra two thousand clams, you get a turbo charged version of the 1.0-litre petrol three-cylinder engine, which boasts an extra 10kW over the non-turbo unit. More importantly though, there's another 28Nm of torque.

We've taken the second-gen Smart fortwo for a quick spin and, although the diminutive city runabout has grown up, expanding in all directions, it's surprisingly peppy around town.
