Five digital cameras for just about anyone
By Alexandra Savvides on 20 October 2009
Olympus E-P1
Though it's rather expensive, we can't help adoring the E-P1. The pictures it takes with the included lenses are mostly great, just don't expect compact-like features such as a viewfinder and flash to be included.
- Good: The design. Have you ever seen such a cool looking camera? SDHC compatibility HD video Aperture priority and art filters in video mode Excellent range of additional accessories
- Bad: The price of those additional accessories Resistive control wheel Loud autofocus on some lenses
- Specs: Digital SLR 12.3 megapixels 3 inch Secure Digital Card, Secure Digital High Capacity See more specifications
- RRP: AU$1,399.00 Where to buy? $139 to $2,200 at 9 stores
Topics: digital camera, canon, nikon, panasonic, olympus, samsung

The Canon Digital IXUS 870 IS has been discontinued :(
Is the IXUS 990IS equally good? -

I still think the good old Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ2 is worth a mention in dispatches. Although dated it manages to bat above its weight and delivers quality pictures which surpass many 4 megapixel cameras.... and has a 12x optical zoom!!
