Pink PlayStation 2

Sony Computer Entertainment Australia (SCEA) today unveiled a limited edition pink PlayStation 2, which will be available from 15 March 2007 for AU$254.95.

The pink PS2 is aimed at women who, according to the IEAA's Interactive Australia 2007 Report, make up for 41 percent of all gamers.

"The decision to produce a pink version of the console... reflects the growing and diverse audience for the PlayStation 2. Social gaming franchises like Buzz!, Eye Toy and SingStar have helped drive and grow demand for the console, particularly with a female audience," SCEA said in a statement.

It comes bundled with two pink Dual Shock 2 controllers, a pink memory card and the pink PS2 slimline console.

I think that it is really crappy that it isn't available to the US, b/c there are alot of female gamers that would buy it and the proceeds could go to Breast Cancer Awareness.

I think its great! About time they started making things in interesting colours, rather than just standard issue black/white/silver products. A green playstation series would be nice too!
