SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- With Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s set for release later this month, it's nearly time for Activision to take the wraps off the first Neversoft-developed entry in the series, the upcoming Guitar Hero III for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation 2. Today the publisher detailed a full lineup of unlockable guitars in the game, which it is now calling Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

Activision also included a few other scraps of information about the upcoming game, saying that it will include "a multiplayer action-inspired battle mode, grueling boss battles, a host of exclusive unlockable content, and visually stunning rock venues."
