More maptacularness for Halo 2

Halo 3 may be on the horizon, and Gears of War may be the current king of Xbox Live, but the biggest Xbox game of all time isn't going to sit back and let the torch be passed on too easily.

Hang 'Em High...with some bronzer and botox.

Two more multiplayer maps will be made available for the first-person shooter this April over Xbox Live for both Xbox and Xbox 360 owners. This is good news for Xbox gamers who haven't yet upgraded to the Xbox 360. When Microsoft originally revealed that more maps were coming for Halo 2 (news that coincided with the announcement of the Halo 3 beta), it was stated that the content would only be made available for Xbox 360 owners.

The two new battlefields coming next month will be familiar to those who spent hours playing split-screen or System Link multiplayer matches from Halo: Combat Evolved. "Hang 'Em High" and "Derelict" have been redone with enhanced graphics and some tweaks as "Tombstone" and "Desolation," respectively.

The two maps will be sold together for US$4, available through the in-game content downloader in Halo 2 and available for Xbox Live Gold members only.
