Garmin Nuvi 265WT
By Derek Fung on 08 January 2009
With its relatively elegant traffic antenna and simple-to-use interface, the Garmin Nuvi 265WT makes a good case for itself.

- Good: Menu and Maps
- Bad: Poor Speaker - Speed cameras not installed
I found this unit a breeze to use. Menu system great.
Downloaded speed cameras etc but never worked.
Voices very bad, some streets I could not undertand.
Around 100 metres out and a few minutes lag time. I would be driving along a street and "it" would tell me to turn into that street, just seemed to be lagging.
Pink road I just couldn't handle.
Made a great photo viewer. -

- Good: Very easy to use touch operation. Latest speed light camera downloads are spot on. Great connectivity with Mac computers. Traffic information in Melbourne is amazing. The ability to instantly cancel a route is a huge plus. Great 4 hour battery life. Easy to view screen with auto change from day to night viewing and auto switch off in car when ignition off. Upgrades for mapping is cheaper than other brands.
- Bad: Speaker quality is OK but could be better.
A delight to use. Local price now down to AU$470. My 3yr old Navman 520 was OK but this unit is super exciting to use with down-loads of Panoramio photos from Garmin web site.

- Good: Once I resolved the speed camera alerts and added favourites for certain roads as the route selection could add 15 minutes due to roadworks
- Bad: Resolving the speed camera is a must else it will frustrate you
Good, lightweight, fits in hand-bag/glove box easily.

- Good: Like the Garmin range
I think I might get one in the UK later on this year when I go over.
GPS's are compleatly overpriced in Australia (and NZ). In the UK (current exchange rate) its 300AUD as opposed to 549 !!!
