GM builds the largest claw game ever

Derek loves nothing more than punching a remote location into a GPS, queuing up some music and heading out on a long drive, so it's a good thing he's in charge of CNET Australia's Car Tech channel.

In an effort to promote its new Chevy Sonic (we know it as the Holden Barina), GM has entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the world's largest claw game.

Unlike the claw machines that still populate game parlours, Chevy's record-breaking prize claw was a six-storey high 3D projection onto the side of the Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel.

Contestants then controlled the claw via an oversized gear lever and a gas pedal. Prizes on offer extended from cameras and snowboards to, of course, a new Sonic/Barina.
