Google acquired Nik Software back in September 2012, taking in the entire suite of photo tools, including the popular mobile app Snapseed. Previously, the complete image-editing plug-in suite was sold for over US$500.

The software suite of six plug-ins includes Dfine 2, Viveza 2, HDR Efex Pro 2, Color Efex Pro 4 Complete Edition, Silver Efex 2 and Sharpener Pro 3. These post-processing tools, when used with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom or Aperture, allow users to make finely tuned edits to enhance their images.

Existing users who have bought any of the individual plug-ins within the past five years will get the entire collection for free, while those who had purchased any plug-in for more than US$149, will be refunded the difference.

If you're looking for a good set of image-editing tools, we think the Nik Software package presents tremendous value for the money.

Already available online, the Nik plug-in suite can be had at the official site, along with a free 15-day demo version for those who want to try it out before buying.
