As television and movie studios realise the advantages of shooting on digital SLRs, more and more TV shows and films are being shot on cameras like the Canon EOS 5D Mark II.

Last month, Cinema5D heard whispers that House would be filmed using the 5D Mark II with Canon lenses to achieve a specific look using shallow depth of field. Director Greg Yaitanes has said that Canon prime lenses were used along with the 24-70mm and 70-200mm lenses.

You can read the Twitter exchange with questions about the filming process on PetaPixel. Previously, the show has been shot on 35mm film. The series finale will air in the US on 17 May.

Awesome - can't wait to see what it looks like, especially with those lenses!

Thats awesome! I can't wait to see it. I know the new movie "In the Darkness" was shot with something similar and I like how gear like this is being used now.
