With Battlefield 3 now on shelves and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 landing on 8 November, the battle is on for first-person shooter supremacy. The deciding factor will be just how long people keep coming back for more multiplayer action.

We spoke with Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling about Modern Warfare's updated multiplayer experience. For those who fear being bruised and battered by the hardcore online scene, Bowling offers some advice on how the new game will help you get your skills up to scratch.
