HP iPAQ 200 Series
By Pam Carroll on 10 September 2007
Designed for business users who don't require phone functionality, its large 4-inch VGA touch screen lends itself to enterprise applications and third-party vertical solutions. Scanners and bar code readers can easily be attached for field forces needing to take orders. It has integrated WiFi and Bluetooth support, and can be used as a VoIP handset.

- Good: - great 4" screen, crystal clear and bright, VGA resolution
- very stable
- two CD and SD memory slots , possible flash memory of 64GB!!!!
-great movie playing, and great audio quality (a bit low level though) - Bad: -loughable speaker (but personnally I do not care.
-some misleading information in HP product description regarding size and screen colors number (18 bits??? - false , the screen is 16 bits).
I have just got my HP iPaq 212 after owning Asus 696 and few past generations of iPaqs . I think it is the gratest PDA ever. I liked a lot the iPaq 2170 however it was locking and needed reset quite often. I bought the Asus 696 as an upgrade, and even if much more stable I hated the audio qualities - I use my PDAs a lot for multimedia play. HP iPaq 212 seems to be perfect (at least for now). I did a lot of research and I read about complaints regarding the audio qualities. I find the sound excellent (in the earphones) especially when using the TCPMP free software. The screen is marvelous, big enough and crystal clear. I converted and played few movies, it is actually enjoyable to watch. There are an infinity of software available , free or very cheap to buy. I also use it to read eBooks in all formats, check my emails, browse internet etc etc. This is hundred times better than any of the new smartphones with their tiny unusable screen or dedicated OS. I read one review saying that PDAs are dead in favour of smart phones - I hope not, as there is no comparison between using a Pocket PC / 4" screen PDA and anything else , either a tiny smartphone or a lite laptop. I believe HP branded wrongly the 212 as business device, of course it can be used by businesses , but it is the perfect multimedia device and more. I installed a total of 40GB flash memory in the two memory card slots - great again!

- Good: Great sets of functions, decent speed and re-mappable keys. No silly camera.
- Bad: no scroll wheel on the side,
Excellent PDA, (being my first) superb for reading notes, viewing slides, great to have a replaceable battery.Great for study.Great to see HP releasing a tool rather than a multi-media toy
Just want insert an Enfora GSM card to change this to usable mobile phone. -

- Good: Beautiful screen, quick processor, hand-writing recognition seems improved, good solid feel. Great for ebooks, movies, note-taking etc etc.
- Bad: Speaker volume a bit soft
Upgraded from a well-used and well-loved 2790, but the hi-res screen of the 200 makes it more useable and enjoyable.
A terrific device. - Good: Beautiful screen, quick processor, hand-writing recognition seems improved, good solid feel. Great for ebooks, movies, note-taking etc etc.

- Good: Superb for portable medical reference, note-taking, and Wi-fi
Beautiful screen
Expect good battery life with 2200 mAh
Doesn't include unnecessary items (phone, GPS) - Bad: How's it an advance on the hx4700?
Far too little inbuilt memory - will probably struggle, like the hx4700, with medical programs and pdfs
Given its old tech, could be cheaper
About time, too! Pity HP haven't actually changed much over the hx4700, but it's still the best for my application.
- Good: Superb for portable medical reference, note-taking, and Wi-fi
