By Dan Ackerman on 29 January 2007
HP's first Vista-based laptop, the Pavilion tx1000, is an unusual but largely successful hybrid, combining a tablet design with an entertainment-focus.

I won this laptop, but i would personally not buy it for the bad battery life. If i was to buy a laptop i would want a good battery life. If this had a better battery life i would recommend this to anyone looking for a laptop

- Good: cool designs, finger print reader works great, simply a cool laptop
- Bad: vent gets extremely too hot. you cant use in in your lap at all. bttery does not last too long as my old computer but its still a great deal.

Considering all the cons you SHOUD have this notebook, i've mentioned all just to show wat i feel about.
- Good: Touch screen works perfect, have status light on the power plug, loge apple, speaker are perfect,
- Bad: The plastic outside is a little wavy, the mouse gone crazy in the first day, i've tried everithyng and it will go back to repair : ( , it's noisy and very very hot, you can't use in your lap, does not have Fire Wire (any tipe) for camcorders, Hd's and etc... The screen seem to not be active TFT, you can't see it by any side, just in front of it. The size and wheight looks like you are with a 14" notebook. But ok.

Just received my tx1000z impressed with style. notebook is thicker than neccessary, dots on scroll pad adds a bit of a drag which is based on individual taste.Still trying to figure notebook out. When writitng i find that alot of pressure must be added in order for the tx to display your work. The entire screen does not display smoothness when writing in journal & Im still looking for the camera
- Bad: The on screen instructions on using the fingerprint reader is printed very small

Bought one, Love it! Has everything you need. AMD is powerful enough. Touchscreen needs a little adjustment to get used to, once you master it, its an awsome feature. There is also a weight saver that swaps out the DVD drive.
- Good: Cool factor.
Good Specs for an tablet.
Fun - Bad: Screen needs time to get used to
- Good: Cool factor.

Great multimedia-oriented notebook + tablet functionality. Not having a Wacom enabled screen reduces its responsiveness to wrting, but being a passive display allows you to use almost everything to make click.. even your fingers!... one and one, don't you think?

I`ve been using HP PAVILION zd8290ea (realy desktop replacement, even for games / with good 256 MB graphic card) and altought very happy, I`m still being disturbed by its size. Well, its nice to have large screen, but U know what? I like this one... I`ll go for it ;-)
- Good: perfect tool
size
cool design - Bad: well, I`d pay for better proc
no dedicated graphic, graphic generaly (how long its gonna take for them to realize we need small tablets with 512 ulra graphic to play anywhere ;-)
- Good: perfect tool
