HTC Touch Cruise

By Joseph Hanlon on 10 April 2008

The Cruise is our favourite of the current HTC line-up and compares well to most of the competition. HTC does a good job of making the touchscreen experience easy to use, however, it won't be for everyone.

    • Good: The new TouchFLO interface is clean and elegant.
    • Bad: Would be great if there is mobile TV support like DVB-T and DVB-H. Add in XGA output and this would be the ideal business and entertainment phone.

Features packed in a nice compact phone.

LOVE it. Never had a PDA WM phone before but I am loving it. I dont get why I read all these things about how bad the phone is looks wise. I really really dont think its that bad. Admittedly I almost got the original touch because I liked the look more but after getting this is pretty much grew on me within hours. What a feature packed phone!

if htc released new firmware with support on 2d and 3d acceleration of msm7200 then it would have been best phone on the market

Don't care about VGA when the screen is only 2.8 inches.

    • Bad: Of course its thicker than a standard phone - if you dont use a PDA and just pose as a yuppie having to be scene - after getting a life, consider just getting a standard phone, as unless you use the powerful business tools, the added thickness is a hefty price to pay in terms of logistics.

awesome phone. This is a phone that combines a win PDA and phone well.

I tested the device in a store yesterday. As I want to exchange my underperforming Tytn II, I liked the design of this model and also GPS function.

Bottom line, I though that this device would be quicker than my new Tytn II , though it is not.
I do not give it extra points for Touch Flo or WM6 as those are not related to this device only.

This could have been a hot on, though it only fits "somewhere in between"

    • Good: 3g, gps, small, good looking
    • Bad: htc haven't fixed their previous model (kruise) over graphic performance past few months and first touch cruise reviews tells us this model will not have accellerated graphics as well. that's too bad as it is only matter of software update but it could have significant improvement on overall performance and battery life. if htc released new firmware with support on 2d and 3d acceleration of msm7200 then it would have been best phone on the market. i personally doubt it since huge customer effort to achieve this, eg petitions

i dont't agree that this model is less atractive than previous ones. it is different but more modern and stylish, but perhaps it's just my opinion.
