A video by Lewis Hilsenteger of Unbox Therapy has popped up on YouTube showing what the new iPad case will look like: smaller, flatter and sleeker, but with the same 9.7-inch display.
Its case is more in line with the cases of the iPad Mini and iPod Touch in form factor, with the brushed aluminium back that Apple prefers for the iPad. Gone are the gently curved edges; instead, it favours the flat, squared design of the iPad Mini.
Apple has also shaved some width off the bezel, while maintaining screen size — it comes in at just 17 centimetres wide, compared to the iPad 4's 18.5 centimetres. It's large enough for Hilsenteger to wrap his hand around, although your mileage may vary.
The speakers and buttons have also changed. Apple has opted for two volume buttons rather than a rocker, and two speakers on the bottom edge, one on either side of the charging port.
Hilsenteger told The Guardian that the case came from a "trusted source" who has proven to be reliable in the past.
