Iriver E100 (4GB)
By Ella Morton on 18 April 2008
The E100 is a friendly, versatile little critter, but its laggy performance can be a real grind.

- Good: For something cheap, it does quite a lot and is really durable.
- Bad: the buttons: they need to have a separate menu button and make the > button go forwards and the
Pretty good except it could be thinner

- Good: cheap, much more features than ipod, supports so many video files including flv, built in speaker, micro sd slot, great sound quality if u set it up with custom eq or srs wow hd, reasonably large scree
- Bad: short battery, video quality is only average
No need to get an ipod, has everything you need lots of features and very cheap for its great quality.

- Good: pricing, mic, sound quality, speakers, expandable memory, line-in recording, battery life, FM-radio
- Bad: navigation responsiveness
It's a great all rounder. It plays music well, has a straight-forward interface (like everything it takes getting used to, but nothing complex).
It does what you need it to do with added perks like FM Radio and recording. Not to mention its competitive pricing.
Battery life is good, but you may find the extra setting ideal for more hardcore music listeners, but it does just fine on its default settings. SRS Wow is good to play with.
The device itself is compact, well-sized and weighing very little. The "D-Pad" is interesting. It serves its purpose, but occasionally navigation feels a teensy bit sluggish, but nothing to concern over. The centre-click button is a little small.
But, if you want non-iPod player with the lot, at a decent price the E100 is a go.
Highly recommended that you upgrade the firmware. -

- Good: sound, fm radio
- Bad: everything else
this is by far the worst device I have ever bought. Controls respond barely if at all, options are hard to access and it hangs all the time.

- Good: sound, physical appearance
- Bad: everything else
terrible product with great sound, impossible to organise music so difficult to scroll thorugh artists when they are not in alphabetical order, same with albums. iriver program plus 3 is difficult to navigate and almost impossible to use. it makes it extremely hard to update your music.
stick to ipods! they cost more but they are much more user-friendly! -

- Good: plays a reasonable range of files, expandable memory, and features that iPod dont have, cheap
- Bad: conversion required for movies, sloppy UI and file system, navigation system is confusing and annoying
reasonably good value for money. also, its robust and is ideal if you just want something cheap

- Good: $
- Bad: get what you pay for.
Feels cheap i guess thats coz it is. a good player on a low budget. no in depth features major dissapointment. eg menu custimization and those little things that make it more fun to use.

- Good: does it all and sounds great with good video
- Bad: feels cheap, menu navigation takes some practice
totally does everything that I bought it for - listening to music and watching videos on my way to work. everything works great, sounds great and look great.
