If you want a small, lightweight Bluetooth headset that is stylish and has great sound quality to boot, the Jabra JX10 is the way to go.

6.5
  • Good: Tiny and lightweight • Smart, stylish design • Feels comfortable in the ear • Great sound quality
  • Bad: Very small pairing button is difficult to press • Expensive
  • Specs: Headset • See more specifications
  • RRP: AU$249.00

With the Jabra JX10, Jabra once again proves itself to be a household name in Bluetooth headsets. It's one of the smallest headsets we've seen, measuring only 39mm by 20mm by 20m and weighing an incredibly light 10 grams. Because of its size, it's barely noticeable when worn, a nice departure from most of the Bluetooth headsets out there. The price is a hefty AU$249, but you do get a lightweight and stylish headset out of it.

Design
Aside from its size, the Jabra JX10 sports an attractive design. Its sexy angular shape is complemented by a silver body with black accents. The earpiece rests comfortably in the ear, and even though the JX10 comes with a detachable ear hook, we found that we didn't need it most of the time. Because of its symmetrical shape, it can be worn on either the right or the left ear.

Features
On top of the Jabra JX10 are the volume buttons, along with the charger port and the light indicator, and on the left side is the Answer/End button. These buttons are easy to press, even when worn on the ear. The pairing button, however, is a tiny recessed control on the back of the headset that requires a bit of fingernail to push. That said, once you can find the button, pairing is relatively easy -- just hold the control down until the light indicator turns a solid blue, then release. To finish, have the phone discover the headset, then confirm the pairing.

Performance
We tested the Jabra JX10 with the Nokia 7380 and the Motorola Pebl, and we were able to pair the devices with the headset without a problem. Phone calls sounded loud and clear, even in a crowded environment, while callers had no problem hearing us. To maximise clarity, Jabra recommends wearing the headset on the same side of your body as you're holding the phone. But considering the range of Bluetooth is supposed to be up to 10 metres, that shouldn't be a requirement for use. Besides letting you answer, end and reject calls, the Jabra JX10 supports voice dialing, last-number redialing, call waiting and putting a call on hold.

The Jabra JX10 comes with an AC-adapter charger and a USB charger so that you can charge it by hooking it up to your PC. There's also a desktop-charging cradle that matches the shape and the colour of the JX10. The Jabra JX10 has a rated talk time of 6 hours and a standby time of eight days.

    Small... I'll give it that!

    • Good: Small
      Looks good
      Light
      Fairly Comfortable
    • Bad: Expensive
      Clip is way too fragile
Stupid way to charge the unit
The volume is not loud enough... infact I couldnt hear out of the speaker in my first one, Jabra replaced it promptly though.
Worst of all is that there is no noise cancelling. It is so small that it is so far away from your mouth that it picks up everything else.

I actually made same experience like PTAtltech in that kind it would never charge up, does not work at all. I bought the device at Harvey Norman and moved just after to QLD. When I called the Australian branch of Jarba they where unable to accept the device and asked me to send it back to Harvey Norman in Victoria. Morover Very poor service of Jarba!!

    • Good: none, apart from it looks nicely
    • Bad: I can't tell anything about it's functions because it doesn't work at all

Great unit. My wife took my first so I bought another from MS Digital which offered at 10 bucks cheaper. It came quickly and would never charge up, does not work. Sooooo disappointed; shame on me I should have just bought from Amazon like the first time but I wanted a colored one. This one must be European blackmarket since it came with a 3prong and adapter.

    • Good: Great looking piece of equipment. I know they can work great.
    • Bad: Does not function...maybe who I bought it from. This is why people don't like to order online.

I have bought two of these as I lost the first one (it needs a lanyard so you can hang it around your neck...). However, I would highly recommend it.

    • Good: Very good sound - no negative feedback to people listening to me at the other end. Very pleased with the device as it is so light that you forget that you have it on.
    • Bad: The ear clip is too fragile - mine broke, but I can still wear the device in my ear without it.

This comment is from myself and other 3 coworkers whom I've lost credibility with since we all had horrid results with this earpiece

    • Good: small, lite, and looks good but so does a feather. Does that mean I can communicate with it? NO IT DOESN'T
    • Bad: one phone sounds great then the next 10 phone call can't hear me at all. Extremely frustrating during very import business calls. Anyone who says this unit works is a liar.

I like it over all but have concerns about the wire ear clip and I think Jabra does too, probably the reason it comes with two clips

    • Good: Light weight / good sound - clear
    • Bad: First wire ear clip only lasted two months.

    I love it.

I bought my first one for $170 now got the second for $51. LOL i just love it. one for home and one for car. AMAZING PRODUCT way to gooo.

    • Good: Everything from the look to the operation.
    • Bad: Easy to loose if not used with the loop.

Loved it until the battery failed after about 2 months

    • Good: Light, very easy to synch, stays synched longer without need to resynch than the old Jabra
    • Bad: Volume still not loud enough. Earclip broke after 1 month, but real frustrated when battery failed after 2 months, need to return and get a new one. Will keep it since everything else okay, hopefully just got unlucky with the battery

    Lousy Sound Quality

What can one say? If an earpiece has lousy sound and lousy range, why use it, however pretty it is.

Listeners complain I sound like I am in a tunnel, but they can hear every background sound. Not good.

I find the loudest setting not loud enough.

Moving my Treo from the shirt pocket to pants pocket increases static and background noise, indicating lousy range.

After one month of use, the earclip broke!

    RECOMMEND YOU STAY AWAY.

    • Good: Pretty
    • Bad: Lousy Sound
      Lousy Range
      Earclip breaks
