The budget-priced JVC GR-D650 performs surprisingly well for its class, in both bright and low light.

The JVC GR-D650US is a very efficient camcorder that provides a lot of quality for the price, from taping to SD stills. Great picture quality, even in low light situations, and easy capture to computer. The larger 1/5" 1.33 megapixel ccd provides clear images and the sound quality is quite good. The camera is lightweight and easy to handle with intuitive controls. I have already purchased three of these camcorders: two for Christmas gifts, and I plan to buy another for myself as a backup, in case mine is lost, stolen or broken.
