In these days of interconnected devices, sometimes it's the small things that are the handiest to have around. One such accessory is the multi-talented i-rocks USB 2.0 12 in 1 Hubreader.
At 85mm x 83mm x 16mm, the unit, which features a crystal top that comes in four colours (white, black, blue and red), resembles a small jewellery box. But it's on the edges of the box where the work gets done. One side accommodates an SD card slot, another a Memory Stick card (and all its permutations if you have adaptors for them), a third hosts Compact Flash, Smart Media and Multi-Media cards. The fourth side of the square holds three USB 2.0 ports (with transfer speeds up to 480 Mbps) which will allow you to connect to all types of hot swappable peripherals like webcams, printers and storage drives.
The unit comes with a switching power adaptor, but as it's also USB bus powered, no external power is needed. It supports the latest versions of both Windows and Mac and comes with an installation driver, a USB 2.0 cable and a soft carry bag that protects the shiny i-rocks unit itself, but doesn't accommodate any of the included cables.
At AU$74.95, it's not exactly cheap as chips, but if you need extra USB ports as well as a multi-card reader when you're on the go, it's a small, handy and attractive accessory that you'll want to add to your travel bag.
