The VX Revolution's star feature is Logitech's new "nearly frictionless" scroll wheel, which lets you scroll through massive documents at extraordinary speeds. The wheel has two scrolling modes, controlled by a switch on the bottom of the mouse. In the first mode, it operates like any other wheel mouse, clicking as it is spun. In the second mode, there's no tactile feedback on the wheel: give it a flick, and it just keeps spinning. We could cruise through about 70 pages of a PDF and about 2,000 e-mail messages with just one spin.
Weighing about 120 grams and about the size of a large bar of soap, the VX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks is a bit bigger than most notebook mice but still smaller than a standard desktop one. Its size makes for an ergonomic design that's comfortable enough to use every day but still small enough to fit in your laptop bag. The size also allows for convenient storage of the wireless receiver. The receiver fits entirely inside the mouse and is ejected with a small button on the bottom; we like that the mouse automatically turns off when the receiver is stowed, which saves power and ensures the mouse won't accidentally turn on when it's in your bag. The VX Revolution also features high-precision laser tracking that we found to be very responsive, as well as a handy LED battery meter so you know how much juice you have left and an on/off indicator light. Logitech claims the mouse will run for 120 days on a single AA battery.
Though you can use the VX Revolution Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks without any setup -- just plug in the USB receiver to an available port and go -- installing Logitech's Set Point 3.0 software, available for both Windows and Mac, makes all of the mouse's seven buttons programmable. The mouse also had truly exceptional reception; in our anecdotal tests, we were able to control our test notebook from about 25 metres away -- not that you'd ever need that range, but it's impressive nonetheless.

The VX Revolution is feels great, looks great, and performs well. Purchased it from ebay for $65 and thought it was well spent. All the buttons are customizable and each application can have its own presets (e.g Side tilt on wheel can be set to a keystroke, for example)
The documentation doesn't provide information on its DPI sensitivity, but i'm guessing its around 800 DPI.
Overall, the sensitivity of the laser sensor is good enough for casual gaming, but for $65, who could ask for more?
Pros: Mousewheel feels great
7 extra buttons compared to a normal wheelmouse
Rubber grips provide comfortable feel, raised chassis lessens strain on the wrist
Low power consumption (battery lasts for over 3 months)
Precision control, it actually is more accurate without a mousepad.
Appropriately sized for small to medium sized hands.
Long wireless range.
Cons: Middle click feels very stiff, but you can remap the Search key to do the job.
Could do better with Bluetooth, or a smaller dongle (like VX Rev Nano)
Zoom slider feels a little fragile and out of place; needs too much force to push it.

Awesome mouse. Good response.
VERY comfortable in the hand.
Only gripe i have is the lack of buttons.
i own both the VX/MX Revolution and having a loss of buttons is a bit painful

This is great mouse for any notebook or PC. The ergonomics are great and the buttons are placed very nicely. The customizable buttons can also be customized specifically for different applications/programs. The range is great for presentations. I can scroll my iTunes library of about 6000 songs with one good flick...can't do that with any other mouse.
The rubber on the scroll wheel becomes loose (after a couple months) and hinders the free-scrolling. You need to either cut the rubber, trim it, and glue it back, or open up the mouse and provide a larger clearance using a dremel. There is a warranty provided, but you have to pay for shipping and you get a new/fixed mouse without the real solution.
Pros: Free-scrolling! Customizable buttons (even for different applications), Smaller receiver, range
Cons: Rubber on scroll wheel getting loose and the price.

A very nice mouse. When I tested it at the store, I thought it was a full-size mouse, and was surprised to find later that it is considered a notebook mouse.
Pros: Very comfortable. Great wireless range like all Logitech mice. Feels great in the hand!
Cons: Expensive! If only it were just a "tad" bigger...

Really good tech mouse, feel good purchase.
I'll save you some money if you don't know already, -ebay, from aussie sellers - i bought 2, one cost me $69 the other $79, shipped!
I know because i bought mine from david jones city for $129.
Then my sister told me she wanted one, and so the after having a look herself the girlfriend wanted one too.
I went to ebay and found them too easy. Hope this makes it a little easier.
(yes, this mouse is good)

- The feel of the moulding is presently unrivalled by a portable

This is the best mouse I have purchased from Logitech. Unlike other notebook mice, this one is a good size. The wireless capability ability to store the USB dongle is a god send make packing great. I've had problems with wireless connections using Logitech, but this one is much better. I'm not a big fan of the zoom feature; too much force is required to push it so it is not very comfortable. This mouse is pricier than most, but you often pay for what you get. I have no buyers regret purchasing this mouse and highly recommend it for those who use it for general use. Not sure how it would fair for the absolutely retentive. Battery life should be about 4 months, but I've only owned it for 1 week.
Pros: Portability, comfort, wireless. Buttons can be programmed.
Cons: Zoom button is not very comfortable. Still needs work.

Impossible to set up to a dell computer. USB drives does not work. Help files does not provide solutions. Instructions are bad - i.e. no overview over all buttons.
