The Aspire 5675WLMi is Acer's first HD DVD capable notebook.

Today Acer becomes the second Australian vendor to announce a HD DVD capable notebook, dubbed the Aspire 5675WLMi. The unit will be available exclusively at Dick Smith Electronics stores for an RRP of AU$5499.

Toshiba was first out of the starting grid with its Qosmio G30 notebook, which sells for AU$4299. However, despite the disparity in announcement dates, actual availability schedules for both notebooks are identical -- late May 2006.

Full specifications are listed below but, aside from the HD DVD support, some notable features include a 15.4-inch widescreen display that boasts an integrated 1.3-megapixel webcam, an Intel Core Duo 2.16GHz processor, an Acer Bluetooth VoiP phone and a 100GB hard drive.
