Unless you're buying a desktop replacement, battery life is arguably the key consideration in any notebook purchase.
Being stranded up the proverbial creek without any battery power is a harsh reality of mobile computing, and can be particularly scathing if you've got an important presentation due and aren't within reach of a power socket.
With that in mind, we've compiled a list of recent laptops we've seen which have demonstrated battery life above the norm, from the tiny netbook all the way up to the desktop replacement.
Apple MacBook Pro (2008 Edition, 2.4GHz)
A solid, if predictable, upgrade to the MacBook Pro line, but noteworthy for stealing the MacBook Air's best feature — expanded gesture controls for the touch pad.
Acer Aspire 8920G
Acer's interesting take on the entertainment desktop replacement makes a few good steps, a few bad, but ultimately is a viable option.
ASUS EeePC 1000H
The Eee PC 1000 is a fabulous machine. It precariously straddles the line between netbook and ultraportable, but it's well equipped, well designed and great for those who need a laptop on the move.
Fujitsu LifeBook P8010
While there are elements that are certainly likeable about the P8010, for a business laptop, let alone an ultraportable, the lack of HSDPA could be considered a show stopper for some.
Toshiba Satellite A200 (Pentium 1.86Ghz, 1GB RAM)
The Satellite A200 is a decent machine for basic productivity needs, but otherwise does little to mark it out from the budget laptop pack.

I think laptops with long battery life should be a thing every laptop should have because it is always a pain, although the prices for these things are impossible for me to buy, the most i'll buy for a laptop will be $700 not $2500. Nice site, very helpful
