More Acer reviews , RRP: AU$599.00
The Acer Aspire One is better than most netbooks. It's fantastic for anyone who wants a small, cheap machine on which to type and surf the Web. However, its battery life lets it down slightly.

This is a good living example of a Windows-less computer.
Why didn't we got them 5 years ago?
Pros: No M$ TAX built-in
No Anti-virus needed to drag performance and batery down
Very portable (Small and Light)
Looks good (and seems to be durable)
AC/DC adapter is small to carry
Cheap
Easy to tweak i to advanced mode and get hundreds of apps from online repositories.
Cons: Reflective display on the outside
Mouse butons are a bit hard
Batery Life (I'll buy later a bigger one with the saved money)

Just bought it. It's a beauty! Easy to setup and go. I love the size and weight. Great display quality. Runs everything I need. Took the XP SP3 update without a hitch. I uninstalled some of the pre-packaged programs without a complaint (i.e. -McAfee, and MS Office trial version).
Pros: Crystal clear LCD screen
XP Home
120 Gig spinning HD
1 Gig of RAM
Usable keyboard
Weighs next to nothing
Battery runs as long as advertized
Lots of surprising extras, like a webcam
Cons: Bit of a screen flicker when running on the battery - not that unusual in laptops

Bought the device 3 days ago while looking for a ~€600 laptop for the kid. You need to look at the purpose... for us it was internet lookup, entertainment(simple games/flash) and simple homework.
UI is restricted and very simple, which is good, but one of the first thing kid said... how can I change the desktop background and the arrow... No can do unless you start the admin software from terminal, and that is something you don't want your kid to play with just yet. So far, huge success with the kid (and father alike).
Pros: Lite, 3xUSB, 2xSD/SDHC/Card Reader(can be used as a "extra drive"), VGA out, Small light adapter, clear screen, and fast for its purpose.
Huge fast growing hacking community, ubuntu concept on atom proven, and more to come. It is a real treat!
Cons: (battery, although it is not a problem at home) Fan noise (really)... I had initlal problems with accessing my router and It crashed a few times (playing installed games and in messenger). No DIVX XVID support by default (and I am still trying to get those codecs to work with mplayer (reinstall is next)).

For what it is intended for as a netbook and the low price, this is a good alternative to lugging around the common heavier laptops.
Pros: Very nice design and low price. Linpus is a good start away from dominant Windows if one intends to learn Linux OS.
Cons: Poor battery performance.

At the same price tag as the earlier generation ASUS EEE701, it offers 1.6Mhz Atom CPU, Double sized SSD (8GB vs 4GB) and an improved Screen.
Also the double card reader sounds usefull :)
Pros: Screen Size
SSD HD 8GB
Intel Atom CPU
Cons: Batery life...
ACER usual lets down in that department, but once again... for the price...

- it looks great
- performance is adequate
Cons: - battery life i guess...but its so cheap that you can use the money you save to buy the extended

Battery Life is a real killer - same with MSI Wind. Seriously - a 6 cell battery will cost about half the cost of the whole unit - We aren't stupid!
Pros: All good
Cons: Battery Life ridiculous
