Now this is the sort of printer we want to see on our desks.

One enterprising gentleman named Adam, who hails from the UK, constructed this charming printer from scratch using Lego, analog motor electronics, sensors, a printer driver and, of course, a felt-tip pen. The video below shows the printer in action, spitting out the classic "Hello World" phrase.

We want one now, please.

First, I hope it was done properly, using only standard Lego, not cutting and drilling it to suit.

Second, I hope that plans to build one become available on the internet, so I can make one.

Third, while they are now obsolete, I always wanted an XY plotter, I'd be really impressed if he'd made one of those.

Fourth, as for multicolour, that shouldn't be too hard to add on.

What happens if the little Lego people controlling it get tired or lose concentration? :)

And have you ever noticed the Kevin Rudd looks like a Lego man ..
