Lexus IS250 in-depth

By Derek Fung on 17 June 2009

What's so wrong with turning a key?

Clearly Lexus and other luxury car makers consider our kilojoules better spent on activities other than sticking a key in a hole and turning it over to start the engine. With the remote key, whenever the key's inside the cabin the car can be started. Stomp on the brake and press the start button to make the car run, or leave the brake pedal unmolested and press the button to start up the entertainment system only.

When I saw that you guys had some car reviews I wondered why anyone would come here to read them. After all, there are some really well-respected motoring journalists in Australia. And yes, you can find their reviews on line.

Reading this answered my question... they wouldn't. Seriously, you need to actually review the car and not just the gizmos. There's a hell of a lot of technology in the motor and driveline that would be well worth spending more time on, rather than the headlight spray. I mean... seriously, most of the technologies you talked about are pretty run-of-the-mill these days.
