It may not be much different from the U8110, but for the loyal users, this is an the ideal upgrade.

Worst company i have ever dealt with. Rude, don't speak english properly and you are dealing with India not australia. Have had the phone do a screen freeze lots of times. Have to send it away for repair as the 3 shops won't touch it cause it was purchased by someone selling door to door. Will never deal with 3 again unless their customer service improves.

    • Good: i couldnt find any
    • Bad: drops out, battery overheats, service unavailable, usally have to reboot to use.

    reboot before use.

The 3 network is hopeless, bad coverage, only help is from India, i am not interested in talking to anybody in India about a product i have purchased in Aus'. This is a replacement phone i went from a brand new one to a 'refurbished. good word refurbished, still means second hand though. The phone drops out all the time, sometimes before i can use it i have to take the battery out and switch it back on. The battery overheats, all in all a crappy service, and a crappy phone.

    • Good: None
    • Bad: Don't EVER go with the 3 network. It will ruin your life. Your business will suffer, your relationships will fall apart, and you'll realise that the day you purchased your LG U8120 from 3 was the day when everything began to screw up. Connectivity, reliability, usable interface - this phone has none of these things. Save yourself! Don't go with 3!

    total rubbish

    • Good: MP3 player, play MP3 as ringtones, Stylish Flip Phone. Loud Speaker.
    • Bad: Can't use custom tones for SMS alerts, speaker isn't loud enough if you are in nosiy situations (internal Speaker) Bit slow at processing commands sometimes.

    Not a bad phone

I bought my phone second hand and was very pleased with it that the fact I could play MP3 tones, and have MP3 for ring tones. I could take pictures or hook the phone up to the computer and download/upload pictures, video, and music directly off or on to phone. But recently my phone has starting to get staticly when talking and I am now starting to experience converstation drop outs, but above all that, for the 14 months of owning this phone considering it was second hand when I bought it, I was really impressed with it, it's a shame it's starting to go downhill as I wasn't ready to purchase another phone but that's life I suppose.

    • Good: Battery life in first 6 months was good (though I had to replace the first battery in the first 2 weeks because it overheated all the time).
Video Calling was fun then it got annoying because of the picture quality.
    • Bad: Terrible Camera.
The Microphone broke in the first six months.
Volume Controller didn't work at all on my replacement phone (I got the phone entirely replaced 6 months into using it).
      3 Network DID NOTHING!
USB software was really hard to configure.
      Static over talking connection.
Buttons were hard to use (keep pressing different buttons to this day)
Predictive text holds 5 words at a time.
Unpredictable: The phone would freeze (all the time), battery overheats (when not in use), terrible signal pick-up (that could be 3 Network too - this is also using the phone in a 3G area), Battery indicator tells me it is a full battery then an empty battery 2 seconds later.
      Generally a REALLY bad phone.

    LG=Lacks Goodness

I can't wait until my contract expires in one month's time. I am going to get off the 3 Network and join someone that knows something about phones and decent service (phone help came from India).
I was bitterly dissapointed about the battery overheating all the time. It really makes you feel like wanting the good old NOKIA 3310/15 back. Those were the days. Luckily Nokia has got a move on in the mobile industry again. NOKIA all the way - N90, N73, 6233... Never getting a 'flip phone' again.

I agree with Sean in that I bought it on a whim. My mates were all with the 3 Network and it was cheap to run when calls were free - but that has nothing to do with the phone.

In all, the weight, design, buttons, battery, service (let's face it - it's only the 3 Network that sells them), camera (even the part that holds the camera in place broke thus rendering the camera useless anyway), size, general funcionality (SMS Dictionary, USB Software) leaves a lot to be desired. Don't buy this phone.

I think this phone was bought by a lot of people because no one had video phones before this, now I'd say people are going of video phones (at least LG ones anyway).

    WORST PHONE IN MY LIFE!

This is hands down the worst phone I have ever owned, no – I'll correct myself. WORST PHONE I HAVE EVER TOUCHED. The phone unpredictably locks up and several times I have had to have the phone fixed. Each time the contacts have had to be reprogrammed. The battery overheats and often runs out after a day of sitting on my desk. Most recently it randomly decided not to transmit your voice and the person at the other end starts having a "Hello? Is anyone there?" conversation. The software that comes with it is useless and you can not download MP3s or pictures to it like the salesman (and the manual) said you can, you have to get another software package written by some nice guy to do this. Its Java support is terrible. The camera is useless and you need spotlight for it to get a decent image. The movies it takes are unwatchable, and this phone has practically non existent features. The warranty ran out within weeks of the end of year 1 of a two year contract, I might also add. I absolutely rue the day I got this phone and will never buy anything LG or 3G again on principal (although, to their credit this phone may actually advance the invention of a time travel device so people can go back in time and undo their decision to purchase this piece of crap).

    PIECE OF JUNK

Do NOT buy this phone, I bought it last year in April on a 12 month plan and in that period i sent the phone back to 3 at leat 10 times. The front screen stopped working, it froze almost daily, the buttons had a cheap feeling, the camera was a absolute joke and the aesthetics HA dont get me started on them... two words UGLY IMPRACTICAL. My contract expired last week and i picked up a nokia N90. Now that is a phone, absolutely perfect compared to the LG. Buy the N90 instead!!!!!! Don't go through wat i did, N90, N90, N90, N90, N90, N90, N90, N90!!!!
